Good question. Maybe birdman can help. Crossing the river is fairly common at this place. Supposedly the Ford is out. Unclear on the Toyota. I was not there but have a friend who sent me the still picture. Anyway here is what I received:
"Yesterday 2 trucks tied to cross the East Fork Carson River just below the lower river left hot springs. The river was at a flow of about 2500 cfs. The big Ford made it across to river left to the hot springs but the Toyota made it into the center of the current before floating down and settling a few hundred yards below in the center of the river. The Ford tried to spawn upstream back across to river right but also eventually floated down near the Toyota on river right. Both vehicles are a boat length apart and easily avoidable to the left.
Fortunately, the passengers were assisted to shore. This was all witnessed by at least a half-dozen rafts full of people on shore. If anyone has any pictures, please share! "
