The falls are fun but the rest of the run is lame unless it is crankin. Three to five foot ledges with a inch of water running over sticky rocks. I was on it about 500 cfs and it was good times and even some good surfing. Other than high water you are doing way more damage than good. Realistically the kids drinking and camping there are destroying the place more than any plastic left on the rocks. My first trip down fossil was three years ago and you could barely find a trail to hike to the falls. I was there last year and there were many social trails and the whole area was trampled and littered with trash.
If you do run fossil do what I did and fill your boat with all the trash and try to educate the visitors to respect the natural resources.
