Fort Collins Surf Report

If anyone in Fort Collins is jone'sn for some surf the future home of the Paddlepark (DS of College) has got some surg going on.

Check it;,00065

Basically, they water masters are realeasing out of Horsetooth to make room for the spring runoff and if you are around and suffering from the lack of boating it's time to get after it.

More info please. If there is even a ray of hope let us know the situation. I went skiing to day and started seeing dots and itching all over. My buddies had to drench me in water to help me get through this attack. It's only october and I'm having these episodes. Oh god I don't think I'm going to live through this winter.

There is a relatively fun steep fast wave to surf. Will be checking it out tomorrow morning and give a report afterwards. But basically if you're in need there is something to do.

Hey TheKid --

Seriously, if the thought of not boating is THAT bad, why don't you head down to the Ark? There's plenty of water in Royal Gorge right now -- Sunshine hole is an absolute keeper at this level. And the Parkdale stretch above Royal Gorge has at least one hole that is loop-capable -- I looped in it on Wedensday.

Seriously, there's water to be had. Just have to look for it.

I saw the Jefe crew tearing it up the other day. Ha.

It is worth it, if you live in Fort Collins and have the afternoon off of work. The wave provides no options for anything other than a front surf.

However, we are working on making this feature a real sweet one, so stay tuned til next year.

i just went down and checked it out, the water is pouring over the top of the the first dam. There is a small hole there that looks like it could be retentive at this level and a possiblity to through some ends. Down steam about 50 ft is a large dropp with a very fast moving wave at the bottom. We could name it the F-Wave.
Anyways we really need to get that park going, It is going to cost only a total of 100,000 dollars for the whole project, but in august we got denied for 2 grants that would have brought the totals up to that level. Right now I think we only have about 60.000 grand or so as of a coulple months ago... last I checked Matt Evans at the moutain shop who is heading this thing off was planning on applying again. Once we have the money it will only take 6 weeks from start to fiinish, but it needs to be during a low flow period. so time is running out, and the prospect of a park for next sping is bleek. Next time anyone goes down there get on there asses about it and let us buzzards know whats up!

Anyways I'm planning on heading down there after work and getting the last surfing in of the season.
