Former Colorado kayaker Brian Massey dies in Denali National Park

Brian Massey, a former Colorado resident and kayaker and former Mountain Miser employee, died while climbing Mount McKinley last week. Here is a link to the report from the Seattle PI:

Firefighters gather at Sea-Tac to greet fallen friend

Some of my fondest memories of paddling back in CO are with you Brian, I'll miss you for sure!!

Massey was a great person and a great outdoorsman — always kind and always ready to help.

I haven't seen him in 10 years but what I remember most was how he was stoked about everything. We spent hours hanging out in our highschool's hallways talking about skiing, climbing, soccer and paddling. Then we'd go play volleyball — of all things — on random weeknights.

He was even there for my first run down Deckers on what was probably my third day in a kayak. An awesome guy.

We'll be thinking of you, Massey.

Sorry guys..

This must be brutal. I read about it, but didn't realize he was from around CO...

My best wishes to the family and friends.
