flatwater spots around fort collins

Im looking for suggestions on a place to teach some beginners how to roll. Anyone know of a good flatwater spot around Fort Collins? Does horsetooth reservoir accept kayaks at the swim area? Thanks for your help!

We used to go to the ponds just west of college behind the 4X4 shop kinda around JAX. Not sure status or if they are still open to the public, this was a while back.

There's that park just north of where College crosses the Poudre - it's flat water though moving and it's free.

Horsetooth charges for all your boats and your car - suck.

The spot kayakfreakus is talking about is still there, open, and free. Its called McMurray Ponds, and its a short walk to the boat ramp from the parking area. You turn west off of N. College between the new auto parts store and the 4x4 shop, cross the tracks, and pass the USFS barracks.
A few of the other natural areas in town are also open to non-power boats. Here's a link to the city's map, which has a key on the second page showing where boating is allowed:
