How's that fish reduction project going, anyway? This is all I could find.

Here's a hint do a catch and release because if you keep catching fish you'll keep having way too many leftovers at dinner.

Your mileage may vary but...

On my last trips in 1998 and 1999 the ranger told us during the lecture that an AZ license was necessary. After we got out of the building he said "the NPS position is we want the rainbows out of the river. Catch all you want and if you don't want to eat it throw it on the shore".

We caught a couple of 5lb or so and they made a really nice appetizer.

On our trip last summer, I didn't fish until Eminence camp and probably caught a fish on every third or fourth cast. I wish I would have started sooner in the trip. The fishing rapidly declined after that. Don't forget to get a trout stamp on your license.

I think I ended up getting the 4-month, it’s cheaper than the CO river only and includes trout also. Unless you plan on heading back to LF to fish later in the year you might as well save a few bucks.

Like a dumbass I only took one rod down there and ended up breaking it. Take two rods everywhere else, guess I was trying to pack minimally which on those giant 18’ rented boats I didn’t need to do anyway.

Our flows were in the low 20’s and it was easy to catch fish at the camps I got to fish at. At most of the camps you’ll see fish cruising behind the boats looking for a strainer meal. They definitely weren’t picky about flies, any little seam they were there.
