On
Saturday, July 9th, we will be hosting the 1st annual Paddle-A-Thon to raise money and awareness for
First Descents - A kayak camp for young adults with cancer founded by Brad Ludden. The Paddle-A-Thon will be held at the Golden WW Park with registration beginning at
8am.
Paddle-A-Thon participants will solicit pledges for each mile paddled or a flat fee donation for participation. At the end of the day mileage will be tabulated and all the money raised will help more young people participate in the First Descents camps.
The Paddle-A-Thon will not be limited to kayakers either. We would like to encourage anyone with a craft that will float down the creek and the proper safety equipment to join us.
More information and sponsorship forms can be picked up at the following locations:
Alpenglow Ski & Paddle
Mountain Miser
Confluence Kayaks
Golden River Sports
REI on E. County Line Road
For more information on First Descents visit
www.firstdescents.org where you can make donations online if you are unable to join us on the 9th.
Thank you for your support and I look forward to seeing you there.
