First Descent of Poland Creek

Whats up Buzz! So i'm excited to say that we have just updated Huckin Huge with the trip report of our recent 1st Descent of Poland Creek. Kayak Session featured the trip report on their site, and we have an EXTREMELY SHORT teaser, actually just kind of a 3d slide show of some of the action. (i know it's short, so don't hate ) Anyways. Enjoy. And if this runs again soon (keep your eyes open for rain over the Bradshaw Mnt. Range) , you'll hear it, because i'll be back in there!

Look for:

Ummm. When is it going to rain in AZ again. I must paddle muddy water in red rock soon. Is Poland across 17 from the Aqua Fria? Must take a lot of rain. I'm doing a rain dance in my office right now. Randy grab Oliver's rain stick. Quick. Dam. That looks so so good.

The run is amazing. I can't stress that enough. I left two or three drops in there to be run. I'll save them for next time. The crazy thing is too, is that it just doesn't stop. It was relentless in there.....totally unexpected.

So with the rain and all...well, does take alot. But no more that normal. If the Auga Fria is running then it is probably good to go.

Poland Creek flows out of Crown King, AZ and dumps into Black Canyon Creek. Black Canyon Creek eventually dumps into the Auga Fria, right above the Rock Springs Guage.

Put In: Hike the 1.5 miles into Hells Hole....downstream of Crown'll see it on the topos.

Take Out: My favorite town: Cleator

Gauge: Look for aleast 1000-2000 cfs difference betweent the upstream gauge (auga fria @ mayer) and the downstream gauge (auga fria @ rock springs).

Have fun and let me know if you are head down here. (that goes for all!!) Keep sending those positive vibes and rain dances our way!
