film Whitewater

The new film "Wildwater" on the North Fork Payette looks amazing.
See WildWater North Fork Payette Teaser on Vimeo

I think it was just finished. Anyone know when it will be shown in Colorado?

Saw Wildwater at the packed Boise premeir, and it is hands down the best whitewater film I have ever seen. It's not your typical kayak porn although it features some really jaw-dropping footage from the NF Payette at last spring's record flows. The cinematography and image quality is just plain superior to any other whitewater film to date. And, it includes some truly thoughtful reflection on why people fall in love with whitewater. A lot of people have tried to express the same sentiment in a lot of different videos, but it always seems to get lost in the bro-brah-sick-gnar shtick. Here you have Ammons and a bunch of other talented paddlers conveying what we all feel in a way that anyone can understand.

Highly recommended, five stars, go see it. There will be a spring tour and I think it is also featured in the Banff tour.

1) you're behind the times..
check Big, big, water North Fork video from WildWater.....
2) you missed a premier in Boulder at the Boulder Adventure Film Festival on November 20th. Patiently wait until spring and hopefully some more tour dates will be announced!

Must agree with PhlyingFish's thoughts. We enjoyed the premiere with 800 sold out seats. Several disappointed folks that didn't make it into the movie were left out in the cold. The movie isn't terribly long (maybe 30 minutes), and the North Fork section is just one of 5 or 6 sections of river documented (Yule Creek, CO, the Grand Canyon, and rivers in Ecuador.)

Can't wait to purchase it when it comes out on DVD and iTunes in March.

Anson says that there will also be a BD version available in March. I'm stoked!

Yes, the high quality camera used in shooting should make the DVD/BD look really good.

Sorry about being behind the times by 2 weeks, but at least I'm not clueless.

Doug Ammons will be our guest speaker at the National Paddling Film Festival in February and he'll be showing WildWater as our feature film. Just in case any of you happen to be stuck in Kentucky in late February...
