FIBArk 2008-One week away & Pine Creek Race info

The 60th Blue Paddle FIBArk Whitewater Festival will be held June 12th -15th, 2008. Some of this years FIBArk highlights will be Freestyle Nationals, Pine Creek Boater X, The Wild and Crazy Hooligan Race, Pro Raft Race, Downriver Race, Raft Rodeo, and New Belgium Beer. Music Headliners are The Radiators and Hells Bells. For a complete list of events and music descriptions please visit www.fibark.com or call 719-539-6918. Donít miss this one; the FIBArk Whitewater Festival has something for everyone! Hope to see you there.

Also we are in desperate need of volunteers to pull off the Pine Creek race this year. Positions include- Parking Bouncers, Parking lot staff to ensure efficient use of space, Safety Kayakers (Get paid $40 or free entry in another FIBArk event), and bouncers to keep people off the river banks. Please contact Chad HIxon for more information @ hadchixon@yahoo.com, or 719.221.8329.

Just as a heads up there will be NO PARKING along the side of HWY 24 or at any pull-outs near the Pine Creek rapid. All spectators, competitors and volunteer will be parking at AVA's Gold Camp, which is just north of Pine Creek rapid, and then shuttled to the Tiger Lilly Site (Pine Creek Rapid) Anyone who tries to park along the road or at any nearby pull-outs including the Numbers stealth put in will be towed. Much thanks goes out to Duke at AVA for the parking, Coby and Rednk of Buffalo Joes for the shuttles, Luke of Arkansas Valley Digital imaging, AHRA, DOW, CSP, CDOT and the Union Pacific Railroad for working together to make this awesome event happen again. Parking is limited, gas is expensive so please carpool.

No parking on Thursday June 12th. After 5PM it will be fine to park as usual.

Should be another epic race. The levels are hanging around 2000-ish.

Dillon to Pine Creek Thursday

Hey, I might be into helping with the Pine Creek race. Is there anyone driving up there from Dillon late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning?

Hopefully you can find a ride. We are still looking for 3 to 4 more safety kayakers. If you make it, find Marko or I (Chad) at the venue and we can get you dialed in. We are hoping to have everyone there by 9AM.
