The COFC has begun the request for proposal (RFP) process for the paddle park in old town. For all those you have helped to raise funds, contributed funds, or have an interest in the park this is a good thing. The word on the street is the COFC hopes to have approval by this Spring and begin construction next fall/winter.
The following text is from a RFP the COFC has just released in the interest of a free market capitalistic society I have posted it here to get the word and get more proposals from qualified firms
From the City of Fort Collins, CO Parks Department;
The City of Fort Collins respectfully requests Proposals (including fees) for Professional Services for the design of a Water Craft Course (Kayak Course) along a designated section of the Poudre River. The selected Consultant(s) firm / team must have completed, through construction, a minimum of three (3) other similar projects and provide information about each project individually. Written proposals, six (6) will be received at the City of Fort Collins' Purchasing Division, 215 North Mason St., 2nd floor, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524. Proposals will be received before 3:00 p.m. (our clock), February 15, 2007. Proposal No. P1058. If delivered, they are to be sent to 215 North Mason Street, 2nd Floor, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524. If mailed, the address is P.O. Box 580, Fort Collins, 80522-0580.
A Pre-Proposal meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. February 1, 2007 in Conference Room 1A at 215 N. Mason in Fort Collins.
