Thanks jmack, I copied and responded to yer post...
Piedra is a very good option for you. Especially because it runs in April.
Upper A is great, but its neither pool drop nor creeky. Still fun though.
>> Yeah, but it sounds like a classic that I'd like to catch.
I cannot recommend the Red River to anyone. Seriously, why does anybody like this run. Its got crappy rocks, wood and poison ivy. All mank and no good drops. I just don't get it.
>>That info gets absorbed
Arkansas Valley is probably the best place for an out-of-towner because of the mmultiple runs and ease of logistics. You can go to Slaughterhouse, but its pretty much the same thing as the numbers.
>>Yeah but I'm a paddler. That means I'm addicted to seeing new runs.
Bailey is a good creek, but you might want a local guide to recognize the larger rapids...or not.
>>I'll have local boys to paddle with. The problem is they're all less than half my age and they'll mostly want to be paddling the manky steeps. Actually, my son enjoys paddling with me and he's also into keeping me alive.
He didn't come up through the 3's and 4's in CO. though.
