Evergreen area boaters?

Hi all,

I'm new to the Evergreen area and looking to meet some local boaters. I've still got some great boating buddies up in the Fort Collins/Cheyenne area; however, I'd like to meet some folks who will be boating south and west of Evergreen, too.

I'm a solid class III boater with some class IV experience. I usually paddle a Siren, except for "big" rivers when I dust off my old, trusty Sparc. I'd love to meet some other women boaters, too!

I plan to attend some of the Arvada, Meyers Pool session during the next few weeks. I know, I know...nothing like getting going late in the "warm-up" season, but 'tis better late than never. Hopefully I'll meet some folks there, but please reply to me if you are interested in meeting/boating. I'll even buy the first pitcher at The Little Bear!

Juls, Welcome to the area. Evergreen is a cool little town (just don't tell anyone) and there are definitly a few boaters in town. There isn't a heck of alot of boating right around there but wihtin 30- 45min there is a ton (foxton, baily, Bear Creek, clear creek, etc.). One of your best bets is to go down to the Golden play park on any sunny day. Also there should be some roll sessions at the evergreen rec-center before too long.
Happy boating, native evergreenite.

I'm close to Evergreen, here in Lakewood. I'm always open to meeting up with new people on the river. Sounds like you may be about a step ahead of me ability wise...last year was my first season, but by the end of the year was doing some Class III type stuff on Foxton, Shoshone, and even one time in Waterton Canyon at decent flow. So, I'm sure we have some overlap there.

Anywho, keep me in mind as the season gets underway. At the moment, I'm still in 'ski' mode, but all this sun is starting to make me think summer activities!
