ESCALANTE UPDATE (monday the 17th)

Sorry I got my date wrong on the last post.

Just got off Escalante and its back up again. Not as high as Saturday, but quite a bit higher than Sunday. A good solid medium level.

No serious new obsticles. Two new beaver dams have created two nice new mini-boofs. Looks like some rocks moved at the top of the falls on the left. Pretty twitchy.

If you continue past the official take out be real careful of the barbed wire fence. It has been repaired and is in the water and nasty. Farther down the big metal flume has fallen into the water and the cables are dragging in the water creating a nasty swinging strainer with lots of debris. Probably best to take out above the private property.
