Escalante at higher flows

We are going to run Escalante on Wednesday. I'm just curious how it is going to be at the higher flows. I led a group this past Saturday, down with no problems. I remember in 2005 when it was high, and it was scary looking. How will the current the flows compare to the flows in 2005?

watch out for Waterslide

At med-high levels Sunday, the regular right line has a bad hole. Think long swims and you might need a buddy with a good throwing arm to get out. The left is a sieve and alot of water is going there. The center boof is good but there is a bit of a boil pushing left. My advise is to scout, set safety, and don't miss your boof. Oh yeah- and the rest of the run is a blast.

Ran it on Monday and it was high. No fin as it was well covered. Everything was fine and the only rapid that caused any problems was corkscrew cause we ran it blind and the magnetic wall claimed a few swims. The hole there is way bigger than one would think. But hey set up safety and scout and have a safe trip. P.S. the falls are good to go.

Roostin'''''''''

I bet escalante is super high, especially after today. It was about 80 all day without a cloud in the sky! If you head out there definitely bring your camera. I might be interested if you need more paddlers. Let me know,
Alex

Brian, why you got to show me bracing hard after the falls? I thought we agreed to cut that out so I looked like a straight stud and I could get me some pinksock?

Sunday Flows

From the looks of your vid it was a little higher on Sunday morning. Did you put on in the afternoon?? The time of day plays with the flow something fierce! If you want juice you gotta get it with your eggs and breaky!
