End of the MWave!

I know, the #1 rule of the MWave is that no-one talks about the MWave.
I'm making an exception here.

Quote from the article below
The Bureau of Reclamation recently came out with a report saying Colorado has the greatest potential of all the states for using irrigation structures for hydroelectric power.
South Canal is the first site to do that in Western Colorado.

Breaking Ground For Montrose Hydroelectric Project - Local News Story - KJCT Grand Junction

There is no news on exactly where the 2 powerplants will be located on the canal, but this cannot be good news for boaters.
Will there be water at the MWave?
Will we still have access to the MWave?
Will the MWave be inside an 11' pipe?

Any boaters from Montrose have any beta.

If you don't know then you probably don't need to know. There has been news on where the hydropower will be located in the past. All I can say is it's in the canal, or more correctly next to the canal attached to pipes that feed back into the canal.

Now to answer your questions.
For there to be a wave there must be water so it will be the MWave or it will be a dry canal.
Access shouldn't be affected, there are too many locals that walk their dogs and shoot their guns out there.
The MWave is too big to fit in a 11' pipe.

Non-sarcastically, if you search for it on Mountainbuzz you will probably be able to find the locations and preliminary operations plan to draw your own conclusions about the future of the MWave. It's just so easy to assume that any project that involves water in Colorado can't be good news for boaters.
