Anyone run encampment at these levels. It is 174 at the putin and 284 at the takeout, which is in the yellow on the buzz... I am going to try and head up there on Sunday or Monday if I can find another taker. Does anyone know if it is even any good at this level or if it will be any good on Sunday/Monday.

I have never run it at that level, but if you do go I would reccomend you pack some beer and/or advil for the paddle out. The last few miles are very slow, and it would be a looooong low water 15 mile day...

I ran it at about those levels last year and I wouldn't bother. You missed it this year. We ran it two weeks ago and it was fun, but even with 350 at the put-in the paddle out was looong. Badkins posted earlier this year that last year he did it around 1000 (at the put-in) and it was a lot of fun. That would be A LOT of fun. I love the run, but I think I'll try to catch it over 600 next time.

Ran it twice this year, once at 800 at put in and once at 550. 500 is probably the lowest I would run it, the meat of the run would still be good fun at lower levels, but the paddle in and out would be long and bony. Especially the paddle out, it would be brutal and you would need so much booze you probably wouldn't be able to drive home and would have to camp at the mosquito infested takeout and suffer from west nile for the rest of the summer - not really worth it.

If you do go post so we know what it is really like at that level.

If I go.. That sounds like a great trip..Probably won't have any problem finding someone else to go with me either. My favorite part would be the mosquito infested camp site.. I think that this one is getting moved off of the list until next year.
