Embudo takeout protocol, IMPORTANT!!!!!

The regular Arroyo takeout for the Embudo is still good to go. However, the lower meadow section has been fenced off for restoration. Some boaters today ignored the sign and drove down into the lower meadow (through a cut in the fence) and caused some major damage to the restoration process. $35,000 dollars has been spent on trying to get this area back to normal wild lands status. This was witnessed by the land owner at that arroyo, he was not happy and although a big pow wow session went down and folks apologized, this is now in the lime light big time. I'm the only boater that lives in Dixon and this all comes back onto my shoulders. So, please respect the signs posted and park before the fence and hike up to your cars. This area is an awesome spot for all of us, lets keep it that way. Stay safe, Atom..
PS, Admins can you make this a sticky?
PPS, other than the takeout issue, The Embudo saw a First decent by a raft. Dana and crew from Durango rallied the entire run. Really cool to see. Big props to them. I'm sure photos and video will be posted soon...
