As a member of a winning team last year, I'd like to comment on the professionalism and dedication EF has to making this run smoothly. The prizes are bigger this year and the competition is stiffer. + it goes to a great cause. Join up.

Oh yeah, rally the crew. This year's comp is shaping up to be stout and the boys at EF really have stepped it up this year.

Adding to the fundraiser for 1st Descents they've negotiated the opportunity for participants to sign up for or renew their AW memberships for an amazing one time price of $10. Big props to the FRPA for their efforts in making that a reality!!

It's still snowing......STOKED!!

I agree Mark ... BIG props to Front Range Paddlers Association ...

Here is what competitors, sponsors and event organizers gave back to the paddling community last year in the Vertical Challenge:
  • 20 teams comprised of 80 competitors rallied to raise over $7,500 is cash donations for First Descents. Sending 7 youth with cancer to kayak camp for a week. They got to experience in a week what we've enjoyed most of our lives.
  • Paddling over 588,000 total vert ... kayakers got after it in an effort to take home $10,000.
  • EddyFlower created a complimentary DVD available to all competitors based on team submissions.
  • Over 570 runs in 17 states were put up for teams to compete in any state across the US. Today there are over 870 runs in 27 states.
GET AFTER IT!

Hey Christine! We would love to have a ladies division, we can definitely arrange a final standings/prizes for that division. If there are any other ladies wanting to form a team let me know and we'll try and help find you a team. As for the rule change, leaning toward keeping the "competitors can only be registered on one team" rule in place. Just doesn't seem right for competitors to compete and win in multiple divisions...gotta spread the loot.
