Going South,
Just returned from Ecuador. Definitely check out Quijos drainage. Sick play and you can fix your Class V jones on the Papajallcta (Spell?). Then head straight for the Jondochi outside of Tena. Super classic drainage. The Upper is awesome, polished granite, Class IV-V and the bottom--from the bridge down--is creeky and turns into sweet bigwater play. Hook up with a playboat for that stretch. The waves are world class.
Also--I didn't get to check out this town called San Miguel or San-something but I wish I could have. It's not in the guide book and is supposed to have all these new runs with awesome bedrock. Ask Larry at Small World Adventures. He's the expert down there. Cool guy too. He put up a post on this site recently. He has all sorts of boats to rent and a killer cabana on the Quijos. He can give you info on that San-place and anything else you want to know.
