Easy Float Trip for Girl Friends Parents???

So my girl friend convinced me to take her parents rafting. Flipping the raft or sending one of them into the drink is out of the question.

So I need an easy class 2sh maybe 3- run to take them down. Within 2 hours maybe 2 1/2 hours of boulder would be nice. The run must be scenic to make up for the lack of whitewater. Suggestions welcome please!!

Thanks!

I'd second pumphouse. Although right now it is at 3,300 cfs so there are a couple of rapids that someone might swim if the person at the oars isn't seasoned.

You might also consider the north platte in Wyo. Putting in at bennit peak or treasure island and floating to saratoga. Its a longer drive but worth the trip.

Pumphouse is probably your best option, just remember to put on early in the day to avoid the headwinds that usually kick up in mid afternoon.

Another option would be the Filter Plant Section of the Poudre. It does have two rapids, but both are easy and it is a bit closer to Boulder.

You might also consider some of the easy water on the arkansas between Salida and Pinicle rock. Theres a couple of rapids in there between large pools but assuming you have good river reading skills it should all be read and run wave trains with the occasional rock to dodge. Easy access from numerous recreation sites for variable length runs. Its also prettier and warmer than pumphouse.

Pumphouse is good, but at these water levels you may want to go below State Bridge. Ask Andy Horn for advise or check out State Bridge to Dotsero

Lower Eagle?
