We ran the Secesh last June and there was some wood. Nothing that couldn't be easily avoided if you are paying attention. No new wood portages, although you still have to portage that steep section above the Miracle Mile.It was my first run and we kept stopping to pick morrels, so the whole thing blurs together and I can't be much more specific than that.
Be aware that we've had a rainy spring with a couple good rain on snow events. That's a recipe for slides and new wood. I haven't heard of anyone going in there yet, but will post an update when I have one. The mushroom picking should be rad in there once again. Bring a fishing rod and you've got the makings of backcountry gourmet dinner.
"A river is more than an amenity, it is a treasure."
