Eagle gauges and flow

Eagle at Riverbend bus stop is 290 cfs. Eagle at Edwards is at 1100. Gore creek is 250ish. What accounts for all of the water at the Edwards gauge? Is is accurate? Anyone paddle from Edwards to Eagle recently and can confirm flow and any trip reports?

1100 is closer to the real flow

My guess is you are looking at a gauge that was not updated or is the eagle near minturn which is above gore creek.
It was between 2.5 & 3' on the chute gauge today.
Down chute is super fun right now.
Avon- Edwards is low but doable in a kayak
We have done a few kayak classes from edwards to Wolcott and there is plenty of water for kayaks.
It's a little tight in a raft, but plenty of folks are doing it.
Cold today so things will drop a bit thurs/fri.
Hope this helps, have fun!

You need to be aware that AW has some issues as they don't always have the best gauge for a given run. The 1100 reading is from the gypsum gauge way downstream and thus not a good gauge for Avon and Edwards runs. I suggest looking at the Avon gauge. There is no Edwards gauge to my knowledge. Also the 290 cfs reading is from the upstream side of minturn quite a ways upstream of the eagle-gore creek confluence.

Gauges aside, Gilman is not running. Dowd chute is but is low. You could make it down the Edwards mile or Avon sections if you are looking for class 3, but they are also very low.

Be heads up of this if you end up on this section of the Eagle.

I'm digging the Wolcott gauge. I've gone from Wolcot to Eagle Fairgounds in a 13ft Hyside at 4.8 ft on the Wolcott gauge. It was boney but fun.

Eddyflower has the upper eagle running at 627. Is this right? AW is at 197... Wouldn't mind making a drive up to link upper e with dowd chute but was curious as what the true flow is... Anyone know?

600+ is correct

AW has the wrong station programmed for the chute/ upper eagle. They have the eagle above minturn (gilman's flow) programmed when that does not take in to account what Gore Creek is putting in.
You need to look at the Eagle at Avon for the true flow of the upper eagle.
Eagle at Avon right now = 657 c.f.s.

Baby bob at the Avon park has been awesome lately given up cartwheels, huge loops, and anything you could imagine! Might be there after work today!
