Durango....Whats the WWP like?

Any info would be great, I think im heading down there this weekend. Are there any creeks running in the vicinity?

Hi Ben -

My boyfriend and I are going to be visiting the WWP in Durango over Memorial Day Weekend. If you go this weekend, check it out and let us know how it rides. We hope it is good. As far as creeks...I am from that area so maybe I can research it a little and find out what there is. I know that the Dolores River is running....check the flows link.

The whitewater park was sick last weekend. Good blunts, both front and back, both directions, and some spins. Eddy was decent. Far better than anything on the front range.

The creeks were stomping. Vallecito at 2.2 was very intense. Most of the staples were too high. We did have a great time on the 3rd Gorge of Lime creek. Predominatly class 4+, and it has one log so eddy hop and be observant. Then paddle into the bottom of the Upper Animas and decide to run the Rockwood box or not. Big water...
