DURANGO NEEDS LETTERS!!!!! ASAP

Hey everyone out there. Durango is in the stages of convincing the city to apply for an RICD and the water hogs have lots of paid people by your taxes to tell the city to not apply for this!!!! Please make some time to write a letter or go to the city council and express the importance of water recreation and how much it means to the town or even the town you live in. This does not all have to come from Durango. This is very important. There are a few people in Durango who have been working there asses off to get this going and they are not paid and they need your help!!!!!!!!! Thanks to all who have helped and thanks for the letters.... I hate politics but the politicians have more money than we do.

Durango City Council
949 East 2nd Ave.
Durango, CO 81301

Very much appreciate the help.

There is a study session tomorrow afternoon (Tues. Nov. 15 from 1-4pm) with city council in the Anasazi Room at the courthouse. The purpose of the meeting is to develop an understanding of the impact on La Plata county for the proposed application for an RICD. If everyone could have there letters in by this evening that would be very helpful. If you don't know, we currently think there is a 2-2 spilt of city council members on the topic. Virgina Castro recently retired and Tom Howley has been elected to fill her spot. I don't know his position on the RICD topic but we need to send him and all of the other council members letters.
Thanks,
Drew Beezley

Just sent another E-mail off to Durango City council.

The E-mail address above doesn't work, use:

CityCouncil@ci.durango.co.us

Please write now!

I just fired them and email. Durango is a River Town! An RICD is an excellent investment in the town's future. Good luck guys! Tell us what we can do to help.

Add one more letter to the list, hope it helps. Thanks for bringing this to everyone’s attention. We are going to send out an email to our members encouraging them to do the same.

Cheers

Send a message via MSN to Timmy
Hi all,

You can go to the following link to send your comments/suggestions directly to the Durango City Council:

http://www.coloradokayaking.com/Anno...elpdurango.php

This will send an email to the address Sward put up, and make it look like it came directly from your email address.

Thanks for your help.

Like wise - DONE.

I'd be more than happy to discuss how our Steamboat RICD app. went. I can let you know the goods, bads, pitfalls and positives from the boaters, non-lawyer, perspective.
