Durango.com Guess the Animas Peak Flow has a Winner!!!

Greg Osgood of Durango, Colorado hit it pretty darned close with a guess of 8,050 CFS on the Durango Gauge. The acutal peak flow was 8,080 CFS on May 25th, 2005 @ 11:30 AM.

Congrats Greg!

Watch out though. I just spoke with a friend of mine last night who has been trying to recalibrate the Durango area gauges and the flow you read was off by almost 2-400cfs on the low side. You should see a little star in the next few days with the correction factor.

And there may still be another peak -- Ultimatley all this data is provisional until the USGS publishes the "official" number.
