I have NRS splash pants made of the same stuff as Tropos. They are sweat machines, get the goretex.

I am a river, babe - I've got plenty of time, I don't know where I'm going, I'm just following the lines..... - "We are water" by Shaye

For rafting, my vote is for a Supernova. I used one on the Grand for the first time and I thought it was great. With the built in booties, just throw on a pair of Smartwool's and it keeps the feet warm. The neoprene at the neck is quite comfortable and unless you are underwater for a long time, which I never was, I didn't seem to get any water in the neck. The only gaskets to deal with are on the wrists.

I just bought a Kokatat Tropos Meridian on ebay last night for $360. I really wanted the GMER but couldn't convince the wife that buying me a $1000 X-mas gift was the best use of our funds. So I am hoping that this suit gets me through my upcoming Grand trip warm and dry. I am going to buy the IR unionsuit for myself for Hanukkah. I love mixed religion marriages!!

I'll post how it performs upon my return.

Randaddy, If your getting pro deal then kick the extra 100 to 150 bucks and get the Kokotat Meridan GMER. I have had mine for 4 years and for 10 bucks you can send it back and kokotat will test and patch for leaks, or do andthing else you might need for a reasonable price. Yes I know you raft, but It's a sweet suit and ya never know If ya might want that tunnel in the future. If you kick down now you will have this thing for years. Whatever you do go Gor Tex. Anyway the thing will pay for itself in 1 cold and wet day.

I gotta plug Kokatat. I JUST got off the phone with Julie over there and I had sent mine in for a leak test and they are warrenting the whole thing because it delaminated. I didn't ask for it or have to convince them of anything they just offered. I have 2 seasons and probably 200 river days on it.

Kokatat hands down is the SH*t.
