I can't blame you for sounding like a spoiled kid... (just kidding really!!!). I think this is a good topic and I wanted to chime in...

Here is the story and it's the bottom line truth. Bobn has it spot on regarding the Super Star. As with most kayak companies, the plug is outsourced and when completed it is then sent to a mold maker... Once that is done, it is then sent to the molder. This process takes 10+ weeks. The Shooting Star plug was for "some reason" made twice (major blunder) by our plug maker and the result was a brutal 10 week waste of time. The paddling community is feeling the brunt and we are working CRAZILY to get it back on track pronto. Truth be told, I saw the very first Super Star last week and it looks like the mold will be producing 1st quality production this week and should be able to ship by mid next week.

Regarding the All Star. The demand for this boat is truly off the charts and is only a testament of how great the whole "Star" line of kayaks really are. It swept the Mens, Womans, and Junior womans worlds over the weekend and I feel safe to say that they far exceeded our expectations when EJ/David designed them. The boat rocks. That being said the demand is insane and we are not a major corporation that has deep pockets to just go build another $35,000 mold to double production. We still have less than 30 employees and JK is a mom/pop organization.

These are not excuses for our short comings... they are who/what we are... a company trying to do the right thing at all times, period. It's important to note that we are also a small company that is doing everything it can to meet the fantastic demand that is out there for our boats. There was/is no conspiracy for us to be "pushing" our Rocker line at the expense of the playboating community. That would be the worst biz plan in history. The All Star issues are just the result of high demand for a small companies products.

Please feel free to ask any questions you like... Jackson is all about full disclosure. Wether they are our mistakes or not we will own up to it everytime.

I hope this explains what is happening, but if not, feel free to pm me.

Thanks for the update. This rant was started primarily because I am an American and used to instant gratification. That being said I think that bringing the public and specifically those interested in this boat up to speed on what is going on is critical to not having any misunderstandings. There is no such thing as communicating to well.

On another note I wanted to continue to give props to Jackson for good quality control. I heard through the grapevine today that approximately 12 boats were produced in the past week which did not meet the company standards and were therefore relegated to the Demo Fleet. I know this seems normal but given the massive demand for this product do you think some less scrupulous companies might have just tried to sneak it through. I mean really who would know? Granted it looks like my boat is a little further out as a result but you have to respect them not compromising there principals. Good job!

P.S. I want my Allstar because I cant take the pain of the Project any more.
