Dude, are you being serious right now? I think I know the who that you refer to! He told me the same story, then he peeled out of the eddy, took a sick line, flipped, thrashed then swam. My attempt to assist said boater proved unnecessary as a spectactular self-recuse was witnessed by many. It appeared to me that a quick poggie snatch made the paddle grab effortless. So my conclusion is even if they didn't help the pop-up camper towing boater with his roll, he swam that rapid in style and a self-rescue poggie snatch is always a welcome sight.
ps..Adgeiser, maybe someday you'll be as cool as he! One can hope huh?
Extra floatation...well I guess you can add the 2 N of bouyant force the poagie floatation force adds to helping your paddle set up on the top of the water for the sweep stroke...so yes they help.
this question is a lot like a girl in college I knew who once asked: "Do these pants make me look fat?" The only response: "No, your fat makes you look fat."
Keeping your head down and snapping your hips helps you roll.
Ha! Too funny! They sure don't help me! They do make it easier to grab for you paddle when you are upside down and lose it. I've done that a couple of times. Maybe he has "special" pogies. Maybe I should buy some of those!
In addition to helping your roll the black ones also look marvelous next to his pink punk rocker!! And I am with ednaout posting does make your boof badd ass, or is that makes your ass booof!
I've learned plenty from watching kayaking videos. It still takes time in the water to put to use and develop the skills, but many concepts and just reading water has improved from watching people who do it right over and over. I've also seen some wicked carnage which has shown me what not to do. Some great, effective and quick rescues as well. I'm not at all saying the more you watch the better you get, but I am saying there is learning value in kayaking porn.
