Hey get on 285 towards the mountains. Then go south on s. Foxton Rd. drive a while and take a left (s. Platte road, I believe) at the fork in the road. You will cross a bridge, keep going up the road for a while, there are a few take outs.
the confluence of the S.f. of the S Platte and N. F. of the South Platte is a good take out...Waterton put-in area. At low water you will have a bumpy ride to the take out though because the river gets kind of wide. It is good to teach newbies how to lean into rocks

I hope that was of some help.

EDIT: You beat me to it by 1 minute, Tina. Hope that between these two sets of directions, you can make sense of it.

From 285 between Conifer and Pine Junction, take the Foxton Rd. exit and follow that until it dead ends at a T. Turn Left (you are now following the North Fork of the South Platte) and continue on this road for a few miles until you go over a bridge (this is where the North Fork meets the South Fork of the South Platte, the put-in to Waterton, take-out to Deckers). Continue on the road about 3 miles past the bridge to a pull-off/parking area. This is the most common put-in, though there are multiple accesses higher and lower also. Have fun!
