Diesel 75 in the coastal surf?

I've got to be on the coast for a week next month and was thinking about taking the Diesel w/ me to hit the surf. Anyone done this with their Diesel or other surfy river runner? How'd it go?

Ah. the diesel is too big for ocean surf. You'll probably plant the nose in.

I agree that its not the ideal boat for surfing, but it would do allright. I would say that the bigger the surf, the more you will notice its ineptness at surfing. It should be fine in smaller waves, but if you get into big waves it might be a bit of a handful. Regardless, you'd still probably have fun so why not. If you have another boat you could take that would be better then I would maybe go for that, or maybe pick up a boogie or surfboard and try something new.

I used to surf a "Walden Paddler" on the east coast. Not the right tool for the job, but it worked. The bow plowed on big surf if you came in too steep.

If you've got nothing else, the deisel will do just fine.

Be really careful with water depth, a lot of people have had their last surf end with their head hitting the sand.

Enjoy!
