devastated to hear of the tragedy on the Fu

Hello friends: http://www.kayakmind.com/profiles/eb...ogPost%3A33463 I was devastated to hear of the tragedy on the Fu. It is one of our most amazing assets as paddlers and the people there were so wam and welcoming. As you can imagine, a people who lived at a subsistance level already, must have been hit really hard by this. I want to do something to help. I was thinking of putting together a booth at the upcoming Teva mtn games and at Fibark. But I have never done that before and am not sure how to go about it. Please let me know if any of you have any ideas or pointers. I thought I would just try to make a few posters and have a collection bucket. Thanks for any support or ideas and I look forward to seeing you there. Michelle 970 987 4648

i'd say save the gas money, hassle, and cash to set up a tent etc. and send your money directly to these guys (from Paddling Life magazine -- for Paddling, Sea Kayaking, Whitewater Rafting, Kayaking, Canoeing, Kayak Fishing, Outrigger Canoe, Rec Boats and Touring, plus boating Blogs, Photos and News Clearinghouse.

Please make donation checks payable to: Futaleufu Relief Fund
P.O. Box 2344 Taos, NM 87571

Bank info:
ABA#307083665
New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union
P.O. Box 8530
Albuquerque, NM 87196
Account # 0029724010

if everyone puts forth a tank worth of gas money to these folks it might actually help someone and stick it to the man at the same time : )
