Deso at 1000cfs in 6 days...how many hours/day on the water?

We are supposed to be leaving on a Deso trip on 7/9. I don't know if it will even be 1000cfs at that point. We have kids and new boaters. If you have done it at 800-1000 please share your wisdom and experience.

Thanks

It won't be quite that low: Bureau of Reclamation - Upper Colorado Region Water Operations: Current Status: Flaming Gorge Reservoir
Still, I wouldn't count on a lot of time lounging in 6 days unless you have Randaddy there to show you how to put your back into it.

800 to 1000cfs you will be fine the channels get a little boney in places. Rattle Snake you will be zigzagging a little, Cole creek is a little challenging as well if you are in a 18' Dem loaded haha. Start way early and put as many miles as you can before lunch because if you get the pleasure of afternoon upstream winds you will be headed back towards sand wash. You will have a GREAT time.99 trips on Deso and I cant think of one bad trip. A CRAPPY DAY ON THE RIVER IS WAY BETTER THAN AN AMAZING DAY AT WORK!!!!!

We're launching on the 8th. Same concerns but we're bringing a motor. I think we're going to motor as far/fast as possible on the first day to provide more beach/hiking/lazy time the rest of the trip. It'll be interesting trying to push seven rafts down a bony river.

If I had a motor I wouldn't be worried. I am concerned about taking 2 full days to get through the first 25 miles of flat water, and then having to rush through the rest of the trip since we don't have the luxury of taking 7 days.

We just got off last Friday.
Six days total. Two days to get to Jack creek. We started by Nine each day, except day one when we started around 11. Winds picked up every day around lunch time. A motor would have been nice, but it is still do-able without. Plan on spending alot of time rowing downstream. The rapids were not a problem at all, but all of us rowing worked in Cali 20 yrs ago so we're used to low water. We had 14 adults and 11 kids so keeping moving was a challenge at times. If you only have a couple boats and wake up early, Take advantage of the mornings before the wind.
