Deer killed himself in Plateau Creek

Hey,
Something weird happened yesterday when I was paddling some class III with my wife. We were on Plateau Creek on the western slope in about 700cfs of icy cold water when a deer got spooked and jumped in front of me at the top of a long class III rapid. The deer's head was bobbing when I did a 180 to yell at my wife to check it out because he was about to take a beating and I guess I'm not very nice because I didn't want my wife to miss the action. I flipped back around and it had disappeared. That thing either experienced a foot entrapment or ended up broached under some rocks that were coming up fast. Poor dude. He was a crazy bastard but he didn't deserve to go like that.
