CSU Kayak Club Meeting date Announced

Fellow CSU and Fort Collins Boaters

A meeting inquiring about the possibility of forming a whitewater club within the CSU community will take place Thursday February 17th, for now in the commons "food court" of the Lory Student Center at 7:00 PM. The meeting is open to all and will be forum style so everybody has a chance to be heard. Please tell everybody you know the more the better.

Not to be a dick but what are you trying to accomplish? Having a meeting in 3 weeks to talk about what you want to do then what? Watch kayak porn and drink beer? That's where a meeting in the food court led to the last time. Talk to the university about forming a club and have them tell you they're still not interested?

I'm really not against the idea of trying to get the university on board to form a club again, but with you creating a post every couple months about wanting to get the ball rolling it makes me believe you don't know what you are in for. If you really want to form a CSU kayak club you are going to have to be ready and willing to jump through all the hoops they are going to throw at you.

The only goal I have for the club is to get people together who love to boat. I could care less if we want to be an official CSU club or just a bunch of people who meet and go boat. I have done some research and talked with some people at slice but there is no point in me pursuing a club with nobody in it. Thats what this meeting is about is to determine if people even want to be in a club. The formation of the club is more than a one person pursuit and if nobody wants to pursue it then there really is no point for me to fill out all the paperwork and "jump through all the hoops" and that is why I want to hold this meeting.

Nathan, don't be all bitter. Even though the last club eventually fell apart, we got some good boating done while it was going. Plus, paddle porn rocks.

When you say the commons, that's the downstairs area, right?
