its pretty simple as you drive north/upcanyon:
the first five miles to Five Mile river access is the "Lower Taylor".
the big meadow immediately thereafter is the former Wapiti Ranch, now known as the Wilder on Taylor. There are not homes here YET, but there will be soon. from Five Mile to the bridge just beyond Harmels is the "Middle Taylor".
From South Bank Access to the "New Generation" put in (above the commercial put in, just above the Slot put in) is the "Upper Taylor".
from the new gen to Lodgepole Campground is the Crystal Creek #2 Filing as the subdivision is officially known. The big house in that meadows was just built by the Burnetts or Bradfords or something that starts with a "B". This is the same group of homes that Mr Gandy, aka, the shoot-at-kayakers-to-scare-them guy, lives in. the whitewater through here is chunky man made fish dams and generally sucks.
from Lodgepole CG up to the fishing access just below Lottis Creek is the "Upper Upper Taylor". Its all public and has roughly 3.5 to 4 mi of class III/III+, beginning with the Lottis Staircase and into Corner Pocket.
from the fishing access up to the Gold Medal water is all private. I dont know the name of the landowner here. This is the most private of the three stretches, Crystal Creek gets run infrequently, and the Wilder is almost constantly.
the first 1/2 mile of the river above the res is public (through Rivers End CG), and then there is a brief section of private property, and then with the exception of an old ranch a few miles up, is public all the way to the headwaters.
