Snowpack is lame, groundwater is there, whatever is on the mountain is headed for the streams. A few hit OBJ a few times just before that storm hit, the level is miniscule now, estimations based on local temps calling for decent flows again maybe tomorow (thursday) and almost definately friday. Ive got no clue about the slate gauge, from Gunny, Ive been watching the flows on the east to get an idea.

very weird....it keeps getting sunny and then raining/snowing on us....kind of a crap shot right now. were supposed to have warmer temps this week but it was snowing on OBJ today, so go figure....itll probably start going late this week. the slate might be good, but havent heard anything about trees or anything. east good to go when it has water.....daisy? no clue...nf no clue...probably still snow.....cement is flowing and will rise big time this weekend

Although our snowpack is lower than other years, there is still a ton of snow left up there. I bet either tomorrow afternoon, or Friday OBJ will be running again. It just got so cold and snowy here that it dropped back down to an extremely low level, it was already higher today though. Daisy probably won't run for a few days unless it gets really warm, I was up there today and there was still lots of snow, especially up in the alpine. North Fork and Daisy are on similar programs because they are both further back into the divide than OBJ, there is still lots of snow down in the constriction right after the big drop on the NF. The slate needs to be at a higher level to be decently runnable, just from my experience. Wicked Wanda is a lot less gnarly if the water is higher than the rock shelves. I'm sure the east will also start running tomorrow. The creeks may not last until july, but i bet they will last into june. I'll post an update on here tomorrow if the creeks come up to a runnable level

WTF is up with everyone being so pessimistic about flows these days!

The rivers don't stop running when the snowpack graph shows that the snow is melted out. Take a look at the historical graphs of our snowpack, I'll make it easy: SNOTEL Basin Time Series Snowpack Summary Graphs | Colorado NRCS

Notice how the curve his bottom around June 1st for the last few years. Ask yourself, did the river stop running on June 1? No. OBJ will have flow through May like it always does, then it might not be so good. Clearly a shorter season is in order this year than last, but its the snow up high that matters. Go boating!
