CREEK AT THE PEAK - 2 weeks away - June 23/24

Buzzards -
We're just 2 weeks out from the 2012 Creek at the Peak downriver race.
While mother nature has provided us with a bit less water than we'd like, we're going to pull up our britches and keep our happy faces on - hosting a great race in conjunction with an all-day music festival and killer post-party in Idaho Springs. This is a major fund raising event for GOALS (Get Outside And Learn Something), a local nonprofit that gets kids out on multi-day river trips in Deso, Cat, Lodore, Westwater, etc.
In fact, the low flows have forced the race to move from the upper stretch of Clear Creek (Lawson to Idaho Springs) to the more scenic and challenging upper canyon run (Kermit's to Hwy 6 & 119).
If you're thinking of registering, you've got a week to do so at early registration rates - they end on 6/16. If you're not racing, but want to help us put on a great, safe event then we're certainly recruiting volunteers. We can offer up a free tshirt and a VIP wrist band (that'll get you a free beer and a burger/brat) for the music festival to our first 50 volunteers.

I know lots of people who raced last year (and volunteered) who had an amazing time. I can't believe the work you have put into it (well...knowing you....I guess I can).

A full day a bands, water, fun....such a great event on the way!

Thanks, Patty - we're doing all we can to put on the very best event possible in spite of mother nature's lack of support!
The race has been moved down into Clear Creek Canyon, and the slalom up to Lawson - as the water is deeper there than in Golden. Regardless of the river flow, Tommyknocker Brewery has made certain that the beer will flow at the music festival all day. Come and get some!!
