Nice work, good to finally see some recent footy of that! Looks great.

What was epic about the mission? Was the hydro-keeper out and about?

Nice early season fire stoker! So good to see. We need to bust that access situation wide open. Some people at AW are working on access on the Animas so peeps should post if they have any situations and ideas to remedy them in the Animas drainage. Specifically Crazy Woman as well as any others.

Access Rockwood Area

We hiked in from Rockwood. If I do it again I will wait until I can float in from either cascade creek or Upper A. Its a long day of hiking otherwise.

We didnt run into anyone from the Dam. I think as said before, being stealth is important. I recommend not hanging out in the open areas at Tacoma. If you are boating in, paddle to the confluence of Crazy Woman and then hike up into the woods out of sight. Best scout is on river left, for both gorges, but the put in is on the River right above first gorge.

General Beta: If hiking on the train tracks in and around Rockwood, try not to get seen, hide in the woods until the train passes. Not always, but the police have been called on some hikers and kayakers on the tracks.... heads up.

Peace,
Driscoll
