Crappy Sprayskirt?

I have a Pyranha 420 and a LL Jefe and they both leak alot. I know all boats leak and I am cool with a little water but they are both leaking too much and more than the my old S6 and Gus. I have tightend all screws and made sure they have tight seals. The Jefe fills so fast that putting it on edge to fairy is sketchy and the 420 can't even play after 5 or so rolls.

Is it my skirt? I have the IR special K I think. Is this skirt crap and should I just get another skirt? What are the driest skirts? Any advise on this skirt or another?

Thanks for any advise and happy boating, the shit is still flowing!

I've been going through the same issue for the last season and a half and have identified three things to help.

1. Boat tightening. Like you said, tighten all the screws, fill in anywhere the plastic is thin, check the glue around the drainplug, etc.

2. Drytop. If your drytop doesn't have good waterproofing, it will get wet and water will drip in through the fabric. This lets in a surprisingly large amount of water. Tight gaskets, etc. help too.

3. Skirt. A good skirt makes a huge difference and it sounds like this is probably your problem. Tight to the body and tight to the cockpit, obviously are important. Mine lost it's waterproofing, wore thin, and got holes eventually. When I got a new skirt, I was bone dry. I have had 100% best experiences with my Snapdragon and will never by a different skirt as long as they keep it up.

some people like to put weather stripping around their cockpit to get a better seal with their skirt, but if your skirt fits right you really shouldn't get any water in your boat. When you tighten the screws try using a silicone product (ie caulk) around the heads. Count is right on about your dry top, but usually you'll feal it leaking and know it is the problem. More than likely it is your skirt, but as to how to fix it??? Buy a new one. Word on the street is you can get cheap skirts on ebay by Bomber Gear. Trial and error man.

I'll bet it is the seal around the cockpit that is leaking.

You could also buy a pump for bailing rafts...or not tip over...or learn to squirt boat...or I dunno, I'm bored.
