Please elaborate for me. Where is the "conspiracy" in your theory (one long run-on sentence)?
Also, please be respectful in your response. Lives have been lost. Friends, loved ones, and all involved in both incidents have been affected. Remember, this is a very public forum.
Hey Tim, I think all he was saying originally (maybe not so eloquently, it was late mind you) is that the media focused on the private rafters & how they were dangerous because they were unguided users, but gave nearly no mention of the commercial issues. As glenn mentioned it wasn't exactly apples to apples.
I have noticed this before, and as a mostly private boater it irks me as well to an extent. I doubt you need to be reminded, not all crews out there are on the level that you guys are & I am consistently reminded of the toolbagged-ness of SOME of the raft companies & their employees and a lack of respect from them to others on the river each time I'm on a commercial stretch. This makes it difficult for me to agree with the Idea portrayed in the media, that the only way to go safely is with a guided trip.
As I hope YOU know, I don't feel that way about all the companies, but you can still give me a bitch slap in a few weeks when I see you at work, it's right around the corner!
