What a totally uninformative article. Thanks for reminding me why I don't subscribe to the paper.

They never say where they're taking samples in Boulder creek. Seems like there's probably a big difference between the canyon and the end of town. Anyway, if the bacteria count is high from the city of Boulder's runoff, we can only guess what the runoff from the entire city of Denver does. Isn't that what nose and ear plugs are for?

Denver confluence water is very clean now. Most of it comes from the bottom of Chatfield, which is the same water in Bailey. There's a little water coming from the Lakewood water treatment plant, but if that is working to specs, it's also clean.

The time to worry about confluence water quality is after a rain when you have runoff.

the boulder paper had the stats. at canyon mouth it was 100 units on a scale where 300 is still w/in limits. at 30th St it was 1100 units. one point is that most towns would be same or worse this time of year. what is different is that boulder measures at reports.
