Colorado Whitewater's Poudre River Weekedn
Poudre River Weekend
What: Weekend of Camping & Boating on the Cache Le Poudre!
When: Friday evening May 30 – Sunday, June 1, 2008
Where: Mountain Park Campground Group Site, details below
Cost: FREE! (Must be Colorado Whitewater member - register on line at www.coloradowhitewater.org )
RSVP: email@example.com or 970 631 2231 – let me know your ability level and if you are willing to lead or sweep a beginner or AB trip.
Beginners and Advanced Beginners MUST RSVP in order for us to recruit enough leads and sweeps. If you do not RSVP, please don't expect to get on a CW club lead trip.
Maximum of 45 people camping in the site overnight, 100 allowed for day use, 60 vehicles total. We need to respect the camp rules, so please do RSVP in the interest of maintaining a good relationship with the campground hosts.
Details: All ability levels welcome! Come camp and kayak and socialize and bring something to share at Saturday Night Pot Luck Dinner. The Filter Plant Run is perfect for beginners and advanced beginners. NOTE: Beginner trips each day will meet at 10 AM at Picnic Rock – The Filter Plant Take Out. (This way, if you’re not camping out, you don’t have to drive all the way up the canyon – just RSVP and show up at Picnic Rock). Depending on water levels the Lower Mishawaka and Bridges runs are good for Low Intermediates, and the rest of you know where to go, doncha! Please let me know if you’d be willing to LEAD a trip or SWEEP a trip one day or the other.
Exit I-25 at Colorado 14 to the west towards Fort Collins. This road is Mulberry in Fort Collins. Go west about 5 miles to US 287, which is College Avenue. Turn right (north) on US 287 and follow it for about 7 miles where you will see the left turn for Colorado 14 exit to the left. The Conoco Station on the corner sits on the spot known as Ted's Place and is a popular rendezvous for kayakers. Mountain Park is just past mile marker 99.
See you there!
