Aaron.. Here is a suggestion. 1st year, do what you can to get it started. Might only be 5 guys and a blow up doll, but what the heck...It's paddling. The great thing about grass roots (gnarrows race is a perfect example) is that it starts with a few mutants and next thing you know 2-3 years later you have people tossing shit.
The key with your event is that there is NOTHING but Gore going on around these parts or anywhere in between. Labor day is f'n perfect. It's really licking the beggining of winter and could very well grow to be the best season wrap up anywhere around. With the Box going on up thataway and a three day weekend, you got the makings of a hell of an event up there.
Events are not easy to put together as I have learned with the Lyons games. For that reason alone, don't look to make too much out of it in the first year. I would think if you post more info (photos) of the run, promise a keg, free camping, and a stereo, DON'T FORGET THE BLOW UP DOLL, and you quite possibly have the best end of season fest west of gauley.
