be sure to hug the assholes(locals, private and commercial).....

who kept launching there, long after the signs were posted, only making the boulders necessary(and of course a squeeze to the DOW,who let it go to begin with;continuously saying it will be resolved"next week",with no backup plan, and who dont want to be at westbank to handle the madness);lastly, lets not leave the owners out,if they turn out to be turning the screws to the taxpayers,to get inflated returns.i heard of a access 1 mile up on the crystal, but its right next to a "no trespassing" sign, that the commercial/locals use,w/o regard.so the cycle can go on,and on,with closures.......

After we saw the signs on Memorial Day weekend my freinds and I stopped using it. Through the time prior to the boulders I have seen privates, commercial and guides still using it even though the signs ewere posted. We have done day long runs from Basalt to GWS or have put in at Westbank. The 2 things that pisses me off about the situation is that I went and bought a fishing license with 2 Habitat stamps so I could use that spot without any ramifications from the DOW about using it and the bullshit from the DOW about it being resolved within a week everytime I called. ANd the whole trespassing on private property is just going to fuck things up for all of us in the long run so just use westbank or put in by ctherine store bridge or Basalt

They're just teasing.

Boat ramp still closed, DOW working on lease | Aspen Daily News Online

Quote:
The boat ramp on the Roaring Fork River in Carbondale did not open last week as officials with the Colorado Division of Wildlife and attorneys for the owner of the land around the boat ramp had hoped.

“We’re all working together to get it done,” said Glenwood Springs attorney Walt Brown, who represents Stan and Valerie Koziel.

Brown said he thinks the new lease between the Koziels and the DOW will be signed and the boat ramp re-opened for river users sometime this week, although he was hesitant to name a target date.

The boat ramp just below the Highway 133 bridge at Highway 82 is one of the busiest DOW boat ramps in the state, and is heavily used by fly-fishing guides taking clients on float trips and by local rafters and kayakers. The boat-ramp is the put-in for the “pink bridge to black bridge” run on the Roaring Fork River.

“It is definitely putting a crimp in our business,” said Tim Heng, general manager of Taylor Creek Fly Shop. “Definitely. And it is difficult to get information from the DOW. All we are hearing is that ‘we are trying hard,’ but I don’t think they are trying hard enough.”

Perry Will, the area manager for the DOW, was not available for comment Friday, but attorney Brown said Will was still working with DOW attorneys in Denver to finalize the details of the new five-year lease. The state agency and the landowners are working through issues such as liability and road maintenance.
