Climate Change: Fort Collins

I'm working on a project based around climate change in Fort Collins. Specifically I'm interested in finding residents in the Fort are taking steps to reduce impact and protect our environment. It's a big undertaking... and I'm by no means a professional film maker as is apparent though my lack of high end equipment and or editing skills... but I still feel that I have the ability to showcase a handful of influential and proactive residents in our community and hopefully spark more people to get out and make a difference!

Here is the first Trailer for the film to be released next fall. Enjoy.

Cool project.

Get in touch with PV Pioneers and find out how to help them help/force a large electric supplier (PVREA - a Tri-State co-op) transition to renewables versus continually investing in new coal fired generation. About PV-Pioneers

If you want to call me at work (PM me) I'll explain more...

Green business and products are great, but they aren't really reducing GHG emissions (still create them) they are just less bad than the conventional alternatives. Green business owners should be recognized, but there are bigger, more important issues to focus on - namely energy efficiency and a transition to renewable generation...both happening in your area.

American Whitewater's website and river stewardship projects are funded by paddlers. Please join, renew, or make a donation to help us protect whitewater rivers in Colorado and nationwide.

Thanks for the input! I'll definitely get in touch with PV Pioneers and see what the project is all about.

That being said, the initial project is focused on the grassroots organizations such as Colorado Home Grown Foods, The GREEN-RADVENTURES project, Bike Fort Collins, RESOURCE recycled building supplies, and other very localized projects showcasing how Fort Collins residents are taking the initiative to help protect the local environment.

I grew up in the suburbs of Washington D.C. and never experienced activism at the high level I witness every day here in Fort Collins. I think this project is a great opportunity to showcase our great town and how we, albeit one step at a time, can influence change.

We'll be releasing at least two more trailers leading up to the full feature release (sometime in the fall).

I'll post updates here on the Buzz... but also keep in touch with the Dirty Dozen Crew Blog as well as the official KEEN blog.

Remember- "...We don't just tolerate independence and the entrepreneurial spirt, we celebrate it and give it a great BIG bear hug" -John Lehndorff speaking about Colorado residents.

Keep in touch

My favorite part of this new craze in the world is how Global Warming has now turned into "Climate Change" We need to stop pretending that we know what the weather is going to do and stop taking so much credit for the change that does occur. Don't get me wrong I am all for people being more environmentally friendly because I would appreciate a little less rusted car parts and beer cans in the river. I am completely behind organizations that clean up our local areas but "Climate Change...Global Warming" come on.
