CKS named "Retailer of the Year"
CKS Awarded Retailer of the Year at 2005 OR Show
Buena Vista, CO, August 17, 2005 Colorado Kayak Supply received the 2005 Retailer of the Year award for paddle sports on August 13 at the summer Outdoor Retailer show. The annual award, presented by Canoe and Kayak magazine, was awarded to Colorado Kayak Supply (CKS) for the first time in the companys eight-year history under current owners Chad and Heather Gorby, and Earl and Cheryl Richmond.
This is the first time in the awards 17-year history that a paddle sport retailer from Colorado has received this award. According to Canoe and Kayak editor Ross Prather, a couple hundred paddle sport manufacturers vote for the retailer that they feel has done the most to promote and support the paddle sports community. CKS was selected out of approximately 500 national candidates.
CKS received the award at the summer Outdoor Retailer show in Salt Lake City, UT. Outdoor Retailer is the leading outdoor industry business-to-business trade event, bringing together top manufacturers, retailers, industry advocates and media. Now in its 24th year, OR gathers approximately 30,000 attendees for the summer market.
