Cisco to Potash

How many river miles is it from the take out of Westwater to the put in of Cataract? Suggestions for number of days? Good camps? Any dams in the way, or is the first one at Lake Powell?

If you are lucky enough to be in the mountains, you are lucky enough.

We ran Cisco to Take out Beach near Moab a few years ago. As I recall it was about 35 miles give or take. It was Running 11,000 cfs and we did it in 4 days at a very relaxed leisure pace. There were some good camps, but I'm not sure how many would be there if the flow was considerably higher, or how many folks would be in them on a popular weekend.
I don't think it's more than another 20 Miles to Potash, but it's pretty flat and I'm guessing it could take 2 maybe 3 days if you hit wind. Don't know of anything obstructions.

It's exactly 53.2 miles.

Onion Creek @ Mile 85 (that's 85 miles above the confluence of the green and colorado) in Professor Valley, on the Moab Daily is one of the better camps on the stretch. Also Hittle Bottom @ Mile 88 is a nice camp with toilets

No Dams until Glen Canyon (Reservoir [Lake] Powell)

3 Days = haulin'
5 Days = leisure
These are low water estimates and are on the conservative side.

You should probably pick up a copy of Belknap's Waterproof Canyonlands River Guide. It's the essential companion. Here is a link: Belknap's Revised Waterproof Canyonlands River Guide (9780916370114): Bill Belknap, Buzz Belknap, Loie Belknap Evans: Books

Practice Stewardship, Enjoy.
