chutes as a beginner run?

Anyone have a view on whether the chutes would be a good place to teach a total beginner (@385 today)? Anything I should know?

Total beginner? I would teach them from scraggy view to chutes but they will still probably swim. I would not take them into the chutes or after them at this level.

I would agree that a TOTAL beginner might not enjoy the first chute the second i wouuld sacrafice them in. The top river right of the firts chute has some funky rock deal sticking out but the pool below are deep and slow. Above is a great stretch. Also when flows are good on the North Fork from the bottom of the rock garden to #1 or the road is good. I learned there!!
