Cherry Creek is UP!

It's dumping and the river is cranking. The hole at the confluence of Cherry Creek and the South Platte (behind REI) is prime. It rarely rises and it good to go right now. After that follow the trash down stream to Master Blaster (also prime), and then to the Tressel Wave (beside the hobit cave).

Later, there is no later it'll back to 300 cfs by morning. And, forget about the water quality that's why we spend so much on health care- use your insurance. Don't just pay that monthly for nothing. They make both ear and nose plugs- use'em. You can get plugs for anything today... I'm telling ya'. GO PADDLE!

Just saw your post and realized you must be the Don in the group I paddled Gore with for the first time a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks for the calm and helpful guidance. It helped a lot.
I was very happy you were along on my first paddle through Gore.

Are you running Gore this weekend?
I've got a great video of you running the meat of Gore Rapid that I'd love to give to you.
Dan

It was so good.

Thanks Dan. Yep, I'm heading up Sunday morning for a run or two.

South Platte was kicking tonight. Ot was the highest many of us had seen in years. The Tressel Wave was incredible. We were only having success hitting it from above, but as the levels creap up... We were getting on from both eddies.

I hope it rains all night.

Peace and happy paddling.

At 10pm, Confluenza is 6500 and climbing- I was out until 8pm and it was BIG. Bring a longer boat, IMO.

Savage Snow -
Why don't you submit the footage of Don running the meat of Gore Rapid into the MSX awards next weekend? E-mail the submission to msx@mountainbuzz.com.

The party is down the street from where you were partying, so you should take advantage of it!!!
